Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ~ Peach Glow

I have been using the powder for what seems like a life time, this has been one of my absolute make up must haves long before I discovered blogging. I haven't blogged about this before just because I don't really find that powder is a product to get excited about, I mean, its just powder. Then again this 'just powder' is a product that I have repurchased numerous times and use every day without fail.

The packaging is nothing special, just plastic but it does the job and I've never had one that's cracked yet but its the product that counts. The shade I use is 003 Peach Glow which I apply with my ELF Complexion Brush. As the product name suggest this helps to mattify my skin beautifully, I have combination skin and it works a treat on my t-zone which can get quite oily. It also doesn't leave my make up looking 'cakey', there's nothing worse than looking at photos when you can really see people make up, you can get full coverage and still look natural.

Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder retails for £3.99 and I will continue to repurchase this for the foreseeable future, you know what they say, If it's not broke, don't fix it! This highstreet bargain has a safe place in my make up collection.

This weekend I'm braving the shops to try and get some extra Christmas present bits, I'm dreading it! I can't wait until I finally have everything sorted and can enjoy Christmas, a cheeky glass of prosecco may be in order if I can't handle the Christmas shoppers. I'm also off out for a 6 course taster meal so hopefully will have a yummy food post up next week. Have a good weekend guys! Xx

Rouge à lèvres lasting finish by Kate in Rossetto

Rossetto 022

So I have done it, I have taken the plunge to brave my first red lip! I don't know why I'm such a wimp when it comes to lip colour, I think I'm just scared in case I get it wrong which is stupid I know because make up is all about experimenting.

Anyway so here is it, I opted for Rimmel's Rouge à lèvres Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Rossetto, I've heard a lot of good things about this line so after swatching a few colours I decided this was the one. Rosetto is a gorgeous deep red which is perfect for a dramatic stand out look and giving you that bit of edge.

The colour applies easily and is very pigmented, so for a wuss like me I apply it lightly and then build on it. The staying power is great and lasted for the majority of my night, it only needed a top up after I had eaten which is to be expected.

My one negative with this lipstick is that I found that it left my lips feeling quite dry and wasn't hydrating at all. I now tend to use a lip balm before applying this.

Overall I am happy with my first red lip and I'm looking forward to being adventurous with more colours.

Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks by Kate can be picked up from Boots for £5.49.

What lipsticks would you recommend?

Sunday Funday: Lets do Lunch

I love Sundays whether its spent all day in my pj’s, visiting family or having a nice Sunday roast. The only thing that can ruin a Sunday is hangover but at least you know you had a good night!

Today I had a lunch date with my house mate  There isn't much going on in the town where I live but there are a couple of little gems that serve nice food and this little Italian café is one of them. I can’t for the life of me remember its name but it begins with an S, I think it’s like Saranos or something.

I love places which have character and this place is beautifully decorated and kind of makes you feel like you have gone away somewhere exciting for lunch.

I opted for the spicy chicken and jalapeño omelette which was delicious, and a bottle of sparkling elderflower (I can’t get enough of this stuff at the moment), followed by a latte.

The evening was spent with a glass of cava, x factor and Homeland. A perfect Sunday afternoon.

What did you get up to this weekend?

No7 Fanomenal Lashes

Fanomenal Lashes

I picked up No7 Fanomenal Lashes mascara from boots back when the £5 vouchers were floating about and the sales assistant actually managed to convince me that I needed this mascara in my life. As a mascara addict I was quite easily swayed, it also helped that it came with a free eye shadow palette and I'm a sucker for a deal!

At first glance at the brush I was a bit underwhelmed, the bristles are very tiny and I didn’t think they would be able to do anything for my lashes. If you have a closer look at the brush there are a couple of longer bristles that spiral up the length of the brush, I struggled to get a photograph of this due to the mascara on it but if you have a chance to look while in the shop you will see what I mean.Boots refer to this as the 'Star' brush.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the results, The bristles managed to get in-between each of my lashes creating great length and volume, which is essentially what you want from a mascara without making your lashes look like spiders!

I do like this mascara but i'm afraid it will not replace my current love affair with the Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara.

You can pick up No7 Fanomenal Lashes Mascara from Boots for £12.95.

**Please excuse my eyebrows, I am booked in for a wax, honest.

Nails: No7 Blackberry

Blackberry

Blackberry is another gorgeous shade by No7 which is absolutely perfect for this time of year, a deep plum colour with gold shimmer running through it. The polish has a lovely shine to it but gold shimmer is very subtle and doesn't show up as much as I would like on the nails.

I'm obsessed with burgundy colours at the moment, I posted about another a little while a go Damson Dream, which is very similar but you can never have too many nail polishes, right?

As with all No7 polishes its easy to apply and is pretty much opaque in one coat but I like to do 2 just to be on the safe side, it usually lasts for about 2 days until chipping starts.

No7 Nail polishes are available from Boots.

Accessorize Merged Baked Blush ~ Scandal

Scandal

Monday morning already, the weekend really should be 3 days long life would be so much better. I've spent this weekend moving house so I'm so tired this morning and my whole body aches, but the house is looking lovely and I can't wait to do a post on it! Also this weekend I managed to hit 200 followers! I cannot thank everyone enough, I'm buzzing and its put me in a great mood for the day, Love you all! Anyway back to today's post...

I purchased this blush on a whim, while I was on a shopping trip with my friends, my local Superdrug is pretty Basic so when I manage to visit the bigger stores I'm like a kid in a sweet shop! I hadn't heard much about Accessorize Cosmetics before but it was the cute girly packaging that caught my eye, and in particular their baked blushes.

The one I Decided to purchase, 'Scandal' has be come my absolute favourite everyday blush. A gorgeous rose colour with gold veins running through it which adds a lovely highlight to my cheeks.

Pigmentation is great and I tend to apply quite lightly and then build to get the desired look. I have combination skin and I find it lasts the majority of my working day.

Accessorize blushes retail at £5 from Superdrug and for 8grams of product is incredible value for money, I'm sure it was around January time when I picked this up and there is no sign of hitting pan at all, even after using it everyday!

If your looking for a great high street blush that won't break the bank then I cannot recommend this beauty enough.

My Favourite Evening Bag

Studded Clutch: New Look

You may have noticed that studs are pretty popular at the moment and I for one am a huge fan of the rocky/ grunge look that's all over the shops.

After lusting over the Topshop black studded clutch for what seemed like forever, I finally realised that my bank balance could not justify the £40 or so that it was retailed at. I then saw online people getting a very similar bag from Primark but did my local Primark ever have it in stock? no, no they did not.

I found this little beauty in New Look for £12.99 and it was love. I know its not exactly the same as the Topshop version but it's still gorgeous and less than half the price!

I have been reaching for this bag nearly every time I have been on a night out and its perfect for rocking up a girlie outfit. The inside is huge, I can fit all of my night out essentials inside without struggling to do the zip up, a bit like a 'Mary Poppins' handbag my friends are always amazed at the amount of things I manage to take out with me!

I think this is a great bag which will give any outfit that bit of edge. What do you think?

About Me Tag

Hey Lovelies! Isn't it cold at the minute! My car said 4 degrees this morning which is rather depressing, so  for this tag I thought I'd use this picture of me taken back in the summer as it reminds me of good times when I wasn't freezing my little toes off!

I saw this tag over on the lovely Jessica's blog and I think its a great way to find out a bit about the person behind the blog. Isn't it funny how we chat with each other everyday trust each others opinions when it comes to products, but the majority of us have never actually met? I find that actually quite amazing. I'm also a bit of a nosey parker and love reading other peoples to see their different personalities, so maybe people will be interested to read mine. Anyway lets get on with the tag, what would you like to know about me...

Are you named after anyone?
Nope. My Real name is Charlotte and I think my parents just liked it, people started to call me Charlie at school and it's just stuck with me from there.

When was the last time you cried?
This is really sad but I watched ‘Marley and Me’ the other day, and I don’t know if I was feeling particularly emotional that day but by the end of the film the floodgates had well and truly opened!

Do you have children?
I'm not quite ready for kids, I can only just about manage to look after myself so no kiddies yet but I hope to one day.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes, I like to think I am a nice person and like to have fun. My friends have stuck with me for years so I can’t be that bad! I agree with the saying ‘Treat others how you would want to be treated’.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
It depends what crowd I'm in but my friends and I use sarcasm a lot, we are always messing about and taking the mick out of each other, nothing horrible just a bit of banter (hate that word).

What's your favourite cereal?
I love cereal! I go through different phases of what I eat the most at the minute I'm loving Crunch Nut Cornflakes and Special K with those clustery bits in.

Whats the first thing you notice about people?
Erm their face I suppose? Or if I see someone from a distance, nice hair, I get mega hair envy.

What's you eye colour?

Hazel

Scary movie or happy endings?
I'm such a wimp with scary films, I prefer thrillers and films with a twist so you never know what’s going to happen next. I do love a rom com though.

Favourite smells?
I love the smell of freshly baked bread and toast in the morning, as soon as I smell toast I just have to have some. I also like the smell of my boyfriend’s shower gel haha.

Summer or Winter?
Summer, I love being outside and going on day trips, it’s always so nice to have lunch in a lovely pub garden by a lake. I do love a warm snuggly jumper in winter too you can’t beat that!

Computer or television?
I’d probably say computer as I use it more, and you can watch TV on the computer so it’s a win, win.

What's the furthest you've been away from home?
I went to Florida 2 years ago and it took 3 separate flights to get there, felt like so far away but was totally worth it.

Do you have any special talents?
I can bend my thumb back, people say that’s weird but I don’t really think I have a talent as such.

Where were you born?
In the Midlands and I still live here now.

What are your hobbies?
blogging, going to the gym and I quite like cooking with my boyfriend and throwing dinner parties.

Favourite movies?
I have so many, I love Taken, I think Liam Neeson is fantastic in it and I love Friends with benefits, I absolutely want to be Mila Kunis.

Well I think you all know me a little better now, come and find me on twitter if you fancy a chin wag :) Eatplayshopblog

Let me know if you have also done this tag and leave your link below. Have a good weekend!

No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick: Cameo

Cameo

Another Pink in my lipstick series today, this time it's my first lipstick by No7 Cameo. Everytime I say the word 'Cameo' it makes me think of the song 'Word up' by the band Cameo, it's a classic 80's tune that my friends and I find hilarious and sing along to it all the time. That might also be the reason that I picked this particular lipstick!

No7 skincare has really impressed me lately so I was interested in branching out into their make up line. Cameo is a gorgeous pink with lilac/silver undertones and has a lovely satin finish. Application is very easy and glides across your lips, the formula is very creamy and quite moisturising which is what I look for in an everyday lip product. The colour Is a bit brighter than I would usually go for everyday so I apply it quite lightly, I love it for a night out though.

I'm looking to find next a deep autumn colour or a red, I don't really know if it will suit me but I'm gonna give it a go!

No7 Moisture Drench Lipsticks retail for £9 in Boots which I think is a reasonable price for the quality, I will definitely be repurchasing another shade. Where are those £5 vouchers when you want them!?

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

I mentioned this product as one of my 'Holy Grail ' products in my 'Why do you wear make up?' tag and realised I hadn't given this product its own moment to shine.

The Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer is well hyped among the blogging world and I 100% understand why. For £4.19 this little beauty will cover your blemishes, hide those nasty dark under eye circles and fill in your pores. What more can you want from a concealer?

I use this everyday without fail in shade 2 'Light', I also have it in shade 3 'Medium' if I have been applying fake tan or have been on holiday. I tend to dab this on with the applicator and then pat in with my ring finger.

The only negative I have to say about this product is the packaging, or more specifically the writing on the tube. What is with it rubbing off so easily? I've never know a product like it! Sure if you have had a product for a long time you expect it to wear but this starts to rub off after a few days. I can get over this though, like I said for £4.19 its a fantastic product, one that I have purchased many a time and will continue to do so.

Charlie's Diary

Lunch ♥ Girlies ♥ Essie ♥ Lionel Richie ♥ VIP ♥Wagamamas ♥ Halloween ♥ The boy ♥ Christmas Costa

This steak sandwich looked a lot better than it actually was, too chewy I thought my jaw was gonna break! We went to see Lionel Richie, now I wouldnt class myself a fan but we were offered tickets and I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I've seen he was so good and so entertaining! I Love the firecracker from Wagamamas although I did have a chilli which about bluw my head off but it was totally worth it. My first Chrismas coffee! I went for the Salted caramel which everyone is raving over and to be honest it just tasted like caramel I think next time I will just stick to the yummy Crème Brulee.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara Volume and Curl

2000 Calorie Volume and Curl

This mascara is thanks to the wonderful world of twitter! I don’t know how many times I retweet posts in order to win some goodies; usually I lose and convince myself it’s a fix, but not this time!

My jaw about hit the floor when I got a tweet saying I had won the 2000 Calorie Volume and Curl mascara, a prize that is right up my street. I love mascara and Max Factor and definitely up their within my favourite mascara brands. What’s even more of a bonus is that this is one Max Factor mascara that I’d never tried before.

The brush is like no other I own, it is curved to create dramatic volume and it did take me a while to get used to. Once I found out what angle the brush worked best for my lashes I was onto a winner.

I'm really impressed how the brush managed to separate and lengthen my lashes. I prefer to use this as an evening mascara as I like to keep my eyes simple during the day.

My only gripe is that I did find it easy to end up with the product around my eyes, but that its probably just down to me getting used to the brush.

I'm very please to have had the chance to try this mascara but I don't think I will be repurchasing this as my love for Max Factors Eye Brightening and their Masterpiece Max mascaras are too great. It is however, a welcome addition to my Max Factor collection and one I will continue to enjoy using.

What do you think?
